Period poverty describes one's inability to afford or access menstrual hygiene supplies, and despite it being a pressing issue in low-income communities all over the world, it is an issue that often goes unaddressed in mainstream civics spaces. Because of this, and the impact that COVID-19 placed on communities in need of menstrual hygiene products, The Next Gen Come Up participated in multiple fundraising initiatives/mutual aid efforts and created multiple social media campaigns raising awareness for the cause and educating the youth of all genders about menstrual hygiene.
