One of the first causes The Next Gen Come Up mobilized towards was environmental justice. today, TNGCU advocates for corporations' use of clean energy and are constantly demanding that elected officials, on the local and federal level, prioritize implementing conservation and environmentally friendly policy.

West orange high climate strike

During their lunch period, with the support of The Next Gen Come Up, a group of West Orange High School students organized a walkout in solidarity with the 2019 National Climate Strike. Skipping their class periods for the rest of the school day, Anya Dillard and her peers delivered speeches, spread information about the climate crisis, and marched laps around the track lining their football field, chanting sayings that commemorated the young people across the world fighting for climate justice and expressing their disappointment in how their elected officials had handled the climate crisis.
